ACEC Member Firm Olsson and Associates has entered into a $1.2 million on-demand civil engineering services contract with the city of Stillwater, Okla.
The city's transportation department utilized Qualifications-Based Selection in making the award, initially evaluating 12 firms on their experience and design and project management expertise, then narrowing the field to five before making the final determination. The contract is for a series of road projects to be completed during the coming year.
The DOT said the contract will save about 45 days per project because it won't need to conduct separate soliciations. Additionally, the city will save money because of streamlined plan creation and bid preparation.
